أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ ٱفْتَرَيْتُهُۥ فَعَلَىَّ إِجْرَامِى وَأَنَا۠ بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ

سُورَةُ هُودٍ
English — Sahih International
Or do they say [about Prophet Muhammad], "He invented it"? Say, "If I have invented it, then upon me is [the consequence of] my crime; but I am innocent of what [crimes] you commit."
اردو — مودودی
اے محمدؐ، کیا یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں کہ اِس شخص نے یہ سب کچھ خود گھڑ لیا ہے؟ ان سے کہو "اگر میں نے یہ خود گھڑا ہے تو مجھ پر اپنے جرم کی ذمہ داری ہے، اور جو جرم تم کر رہے ہو اس کی ذمہ داری سے میں بری ہوں"

Malahan kaum Nuh itu berkata: "Dia cuma membuat-buat nasihatnya saja". Katakanlah: "Jika aku membuat-buat nasihat itu, maka hanya akulah yang memikul dosaku, dan aku berlepas diri dari dosa yang kamu perbuat".

An Interruption to verify the Truthfulness of the Prophet
This is presented in the middle of the story to affirm the story itself. It is as if Allah, the Exalted, is saying to Muhammad , "Or do these obstinate disbelievers say that he fabricated this and invented it himself"
قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَعَلَىَّ إِجْرَامِى
(Say: "If I have fabricated it, upon me be my crimes...") This means: such sin would be mine alone.
وَأَنَاْ بَرِىءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرَمُونَ
(but I am innocent of (all) those crimes which you commit.) This story is not invented, or fabricated falsely. Because he (the Prophet) knows better the punishment of Allah for one who lies on Allah.
المُيَسَّر
بل أيقول هؤلاء المشركون من قوم نوح: افترى نوح هذا القول؟ قل لهم: إن كنتُ قد افتريتُ ذلك على الله فعليَّ وحدي إثم ذلك، وإذا كنتُ صادقًا فأنتم المجرمون الآثمون، وأنا بريء مِن كفركم وتكذيبكم وإجرامكم.
